Just like everywhere else, the 29er is taking over in Brazil. Last year, estimates put the number of big wheel bikes at this race at about 5 percent. This year, it’s at least half of the steeds at this seven-day mountain bike stage race. Most are of the carbon hardtail variety, such as those fashioned by RC Bikes, a new Brazilian bike maker co-founded by Brasil Ride race director Mario Roma.
