PARIS (AFP) — Sprinter Jimmy Casper has joined AG2R-La Mondiale on a one-year deal with the option of a second, the French team announced in a statement on Wednesday.

The news comes on the same day in which Casper claimed his sixth win of the season on the first stage of the Tour de l’Ain in eastern France with his present team Saur-Sojasun.

Casper, 33, turned professional in 1998 and has won one stage on the Tour de France, in 2006.
