What applies in Beauce is equally valid on the plains of Picardy: On this stage, the big danger is the wind. If it blows and echelons form that scatter the peloton, this will be a nightmarish day. That’s assuming the yellow jersey contenders don’t decide to save their domestiques for the following day. If that is the case, two scenarios are possible: a bunch sprint, or an escape featuring a group of aggressors. In any case, this is a tricky stage, especially as fatigue will be starting to have an effect.
Check back after the race.
