Bennett won the World BMX Championship in 2002, 2003 and 2007. His stepfather is John Purse, a well-known BMX racer from the 1990s. Bennett earned anautomatic spot on the Olympic team by making the finals of the UCI World Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark, this spring.
