Thorburn is a medical doctor who took up cycling at Stanford Medical School. She returns for her second Olympics, competing in both the road race and time trial. Thorburn is one of the country’s strongest time trialists, competing and training while still maintaining a full-time work schedule as a rheumatologist in Palo Alto, California.
