Nevada City Classicarrows

The Nevada City criterium has been held since 1961 on a distinctive 1.1-mile course in the heart of the old California Gold Rush town. The seven-turn course includes 120 feet of climbing per lap, making for a brutal race of attrition. The finish line is on a downhill straight where riders hit 50-plus mph. Past winners include John Howard, Greg LeMond, Bob Cook and Justin England. The race is traditionally held on Father's Day.
