Biography

After turning pro in 1995 with Artiach, Rubiera’s first pro win came in 1997 with a stage victory at the Giro d'Italia. As a domestique as U.S. Postal/Discovery Channle, "Chechu" was a faithful assistant to Lance Armstrong in the mountains of the Tour de France. He earned an engineering degree in 2004 — while racing full time.
