'The Cuban Missile,' Ivan Dominguez, joins the Jamis-Sutter Home team for 2010.
Top sprinter Ivan Dominguez is joining the re-titled Jamis-Sutter Home team for 2010, adding some serious sprinter cred to a team already known for its speedmen.
Dominguez, a native of Cuba and now a U.S. citizen, has ridden with Saturn, HealthNet, and Toyota-United. Last year he started the season with the Fuji-Servetto ProTour team, but mid-season he returned to a domestic program with Rock Racing.
“Signing with Jamis-Sutter Home is really special for me,” Dominguez said. “I have the opportunity to ride with the number one team in the NRC and I’m reunited with former teammates Sebastian Alexandre and Luis Amaran.”
Alexandre, now Jamis-Sutter Home’s directeur sportif, rode with Dominguez on the Colavita/Bolla Men’s Cycling Team in 2004.
The team announced last month that its top riders Sebastian Haedo, Luis Amaran, and Alejandro Borrajo would return for 2010. The team will start the new season at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina in January.
