Carlos Sastre says he hasn't made up his mind about his 2010 race calendar
Carlos Sastre insists he still hasn’t made up his mind on his 2010 calendar.
The 2008 Tour de France champion was dismayed to see media reports that he was going to skip the Tour in favor of racing the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España.
“My surprise was in capital letters, because I never said what is being bandied about in the headlines, which, according to them, it appears I have decided what races I’ll do in 2010,” Sastre said in a press statement Wednesday.
“I will repeat what I said after the Tour and Giro presentations: until I see what’s in store for the Vuelta and I’ve had a chance to study all three, I am not going to announce anything about my schedule.”
Sastre gave a press conference Tuesday in Ávila during which he said comments about winning the Tour but not the Giro or Vuelta were taken out of context.
