Boulder Nordic racing team hosts gear swap Nov. 4
Press Release
Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team’s 19th Annual Ski Expo and Swap
November 4, 6:45 to 8:45 pm in the Boulder High School Cafeteria
(1604 Arapahoe Avenue Boulder, CO)
The sale:
The event features demo skis/poles/boots from local ski areas (Eldora, Snow Mountain Ranch, Devil’s Thumb Ranch) as well as a variety of used equipment and apparel for sale from local skiers. It’s a great opportunity to sell what you have or pick up something you need for the upcoming ski season. 15% of the sales go to the Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team to help offset travel and training expenses.
The Team:
The Boulder Nordic Junior Racing Team (BNJRT) is a youth racing and recreational Nordic ski club. The focus for the older kids (age 14 -19) is to qualify for the Junior National Championships, which will be held in Maine in 2010. The younger kids focus on having fun and learning skills in both classic and skate styles of Nordic skiing. Weekly training on snow at Eldora or locally in North Boulder Park runs from November through March. The more serious skiers train year-round under the guidance of head coach Eric Pepper. Races begin in December and run through the ski season. Most of the races are in Colorado but the team does travel to Utah and Montana for training and racing.
