Discovery Channel star Tom Danielson will take time out of his busyschedule ahead of defending his title at the Tour de Georgia to meet andride with lucky members of the public Saturday in Littleton, Colorado.Danielson will join a group ride of about 20-25 miles and then hostan autograph and open forum for the general public followed by a pressconference for the media.The events take place Saturday, April 8, at the Bicycle Village storeat 8100 W. Crestline Ave. near Wadsworth and Bowles.The schedule:
12:00 pm - Group ride with Tom Danielson leaving from the BicycleVillage parking lot, about 20-25 miles at a moderate pace, no one getsdropped
2:00 pm - Open forum for Q&A with Tom and autograph session

Tom grew up on the East Coast before attending Fort Lewis College inDurango, Colo. Since graduating, he has raced in the United States forthe Mercury and Saturn cycling teams. Tom began his racing career in Europefor Fassa Bortolo in 2004 before switching to the Discovery Channel team.After crushing the previous record time by four minutes at the Bob CookMt. Evans Hill Climb in 2004 (1:41:20), Tom set his sites on the 2005 Tourde Georgia. With support from teammates like Lance Armstorng and GeorgeHincapie, Tom had a leg up on the field throughout the entire race. A strongride on the Brasstown Bald stage, the most elevation gained during theweek, propelled him to a decisive win. He later went on to finish in thetop 10 in the Vuelta a España.Tom looks to repeat as Tour de Georgia champ for 2006 after a solidperformance at the 2006 Amgen Tour of California where he placed 8th inan international field with all of the big guns looking to prove theirearly season form.
