Jim Miller named USAC's permanent athletic director
Jim Miller, who has been the interim director of USA Cycling since February, was named to the position effective Monday.
Miller, 38, has been at USA Cycling for seven years. He was hired to manage the USA Cycling-run T-Mobile Women’s Professional Cycling Team, and later became director of the women’s national road team before overseeing all of USA Cycling’s endurance-specific programs, including junior, U23 and women’s.
As Director of Athletics, Miller will oversee athletic programs for all major disciplines of competitive cycling — road, track, mountain bike, BMX and cyclocross
A native of Casper, Wyoming, Miller earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Colorado State University. In 1999, he retired as a professional road and mountain bike racer to pursue a full-time coaching career. He later founded Peak to Peak Training, a Fort Collins, Colorado-based private coaching business.
