Mega 'cross clinic planned in Maryland
There is no shortage this year of new racers who have only a vague idea of what they’re doing. If you count yourself among them, or if you just want to hone your skills, the National Capital Velo Club will be holding their traditional marathon cyclocross clinic on Saturday September 27, the day before NCVC’s Ed Sander Memorial Cyclocross, at Lilypons Water Gardens in Buckeystown Maryland.
The lead instructor for the 6 hour clinic will be former Ed Sander Memorial winner Andy Applegate from VeloSports Performance Center of Ashville, North Carolina. Joining him on the teaching team will be Cara “the fastest bike racin' chick in the 28711 zip code” McCulley and the husband and wife pairing of Gunnar and Betsy Shogren, who are both reigning class champions in the BikeReg.com MABRA Series. The clinic will cover beginner and advanced techniques, race tactics and race day prep.
The registration fee for the 2008 Lilypons Cyclocross Clinic INCLUDES registration for the following day’s Ed Sander Memorial, one of the premier races in the Mid Atlantic. The clinic will also include a light breakfast, lunch and post-training recovery so you’ll be at your best for the race on Sunday.
