The PowerCordz 1.2mm Derailleur Cordz Set includes what the company says are the lightest derailleur cables in the world, tipping the scale at 2.3 grams each, about a quarter the weight of steel cables.
The cables, made of Zylon synthetic fiber, install easily and require no modification to the shifting system. Besides the weight advantage, PowerCordz resist stretching and won’t corrode. The cables are available separately or as part of a cable/housing system ($69 retail) that includes pre-lubed 4mm housing and sealed alloy ferrules.
