Forget the jerseys – study the riders
Editor:
I offer a friendly tip to all these VeloNews readers who are still wondering who won the Roubaix 'cause everyone's little outfits look so similar: Stop looking at the jersey, people, and pay attention to the rider!

George is the big guy who lies over his bike like a panther lies over its kill - flat back, flat forearms and way back in the saddle. Boonen's cadence was easily 10-12 rpm faster than the others', and Flecha was - well, he was the other guy!

You can distinguish all this even from the helicopter, but you have to stop squinting at their jerseys. They can't all wear bright yellow, you know.

Yeah, what he said
Editor:
Enough with the complaining about Discovery's jerseys. I agree, the jerseys are essentially copies of Fassa Bortolo or Quick Step. But let’s move on. You're still going to see thousands of Discovery jerseys on the weekend club ride.

For those who couldn't tell whether Boonen, Flecha or Hincapie was leading at Roubaix - just look at the smoothness and riding style. Boonen is amazing, but he bounces all over the place. He pounded his pedals to victory. Hincapie, the more mature rider, makes it look like he's pedaling as smooth as silk, even over the cobbles.

No, check out the hairstyle
Editor:
I think that it should be noted that one can easily tell the difference between Discovery and other teams by simply looking for the stylish "Euro mullet" protruding out the back of a rider’s helmet. Once this is spotted it’s safe to assume that the rider is riding for either Quick Step or Fassa.

Editor:
Where are the complaints about the Liquigas jerseys - lime green with celeste? Where is that Italian flair for fashion? Cipo’ has to cringe every time he pulls on that jersey.
