Collegiate all-star team will compete at Nature Valley Grand Prix

A composite team of top collegiate women cyclists will compete in next month's Nature Valley Grand Prix in Minnesota.

The Ryan Collegiate All-Stars Team was selected at the collegiate road national championships earlier this month in Fort Collins, Colorado. Selection was based on the final individual overall standings for riders who were not already on teams that were attending Nature Valley.

The team is sponsored by Ryan Companies US, a national real estate company with offices in Minneapolis. The team riders Each member of the team receives free entry, a travel stipend, host housing, a support staff comprised of a team manager, mechanic and soigneur, an operating budget and team clothing.

Riders selected to the 2008 Ryan Collegiate All-Stars team are:
Chloe Forsman, University of Arizona
Devon Haskell, University of Chicago
Anna McLoon, Harvard University
Amanda Miller, Colorado State University
Jen Stebbins, Dartmouth College
Carla Swart, Lees-McRae College

“The Ryan Collegiate All Stars is a great way to build awareness of collegiate cycling and to help talented women move up the ladder in the sport,” said USA Cycling board president Mark Abramson, who also serves on the board of the National Collegiate Cycling Association.

This is the second year for the Ryan all-star team. Last year three of the team riders signed pro contracts for the 2008 season.
