Fond memories of Dede
Editor:
I just caught the last report from Dede Demet-Barry. I'm so glad you did all the racing and writing for all those years. Not to mention the training, and all the schooling. I really enjoyed the times we talked or even rode together back when you lived in Colorado Springs. Your old team jersey hangs in my shop and memories of watching you do so well will always be inspirational. Thanks for sharing your talents as a cyclist and for writing about your adventures too. Best wishes for you and your loved ones.

How about the freedom not to ‘move on?’
Editor:
I always thought that "freedom thing " also included the right to express one's opinion (see Friday’s mailbag: “Don’t like O’Grady? Move on to the next article.”). O'Grady can write what he wants and people should have a right to voice their objections. Move on? Why? Can't freedom accommodate opposing views?

Vote like a bike rider (and watch those bumper stickers)
Editor:
Forget conservative-liberal comparisons - that's all open to speculation. Open your eyes out there and vote like a bike rider.

Since I started keeping track three months ago, not one car with a Kerry sticker has given me any trouble out there on the highway. No-sticker vehicles, 5; Bush sticker, 7; Bush sticker with rebel flag, 3.

And I ain’t drinkin’ no Kool-Aid neither.

Politics, schmolitics
Editor:
First off, who cares what VeloNews publishes about (non-bike) politics? Second, if you ever get sick of the "liberal media" go to www.foxnews.com where "fair and balanced" means "conservative."

Was Tyler channeling Elaine at Fenway?
Editor:
Was that Tyler Hamilton dancing at Fenway Park on Saturday night on the Fox TV broadcast of the World Series? In the ninth inning, Fox showed someone who looked an awful lot like Tyler doing an imitation of Elaine’s famous “dance” from “Seinfeld.” Was that Tyler? Would he admit to it? Would you if you danced like that? Go Sox!
