How about that Montréal-Boston race?
Editor:
Just curious about the stage race from Montréal to Boston this August. I haven't seen it mentioned on the web site and since the proposed course comes within three miles of my house I was looking for more info. Have any?

More on Ride the Rockies, please
Editor:
Having read Greg Moody’s article about training for The Denver Post’s Ride the Rockies, I am intrigued by this ride. What does it entail? Details, please.

I have done Ride for the Roses in Austin and will again this year — my vacation and big ride all in one. I might do the Philly Challenge as well, as it’s right out my door, but the mountains of Colorado — now that’s a ride.

It got me thinking that if some sort-of-in-shape 54-year-old can do it, why not me? I’m 42 and in pretty good shape. Does the ride benefit any charity? I sort of like the extra incentive that I’m doing some good for others as I’m killing myself.

Thanks for providing me with a possibility of a new goal. Is it just a dream, or is it doable?.

Doable but difficult, Paul. The first hurdle is getting past the lottery that determines who gets in and who stays home. For more information, see the Ride the Rockies website — and stay tuned for more training tales from Greg Moody. — Editor

Fresh ‘Korn is ‘da bomb’
Editor:
Regarding Will Frischkorn's diary, “Fresh 'Korn: Two-wheeled gladiators” — that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! I just saw "300," the Spartan movie (it’s strong and weak, but stirring nonetheless). As a former USCF racer and now actor, I can tell you there are obvious similarities between the heroic warriors of history and racers. They're the samurai class, these pros — doing what they love to do against most reason or the herd call to survival.

I think Patrick O'Grady's awesome, especially his treatise on the beauty of cyclo-cross, but this stuff from the frontlines is da' bomb. Go Will!
