Franzoi, Rossi win Italian crowns
Enrico Franzoi (Lampre-Fondital) won the Italian cyclo-cross championships on Saturday in Lucques.

Marco Aurelio Fontana (Selle Italia-Guerciotti) took the runner-up spot just one second back with Marco Bianco (L'Arcobaleno Carraio) third at three seconds.

Vania Rossi (Italiana Carburanti) won the women’s title ahead of Milena Calvani (Simec) and Francesca Cucciniello (Selle Italia-Guerciotti).

Dlask takes Czech title
Petr Dlask (Fidea) won the Czech Republic cyclo-cross championship on Saturday in the town of Ceska Lipa.

Zdenek Stybar took second at 1:17 with Radomir Simunek third at 1:38.

Kupfernagel repeats as German champ
Despite being weakened by a case of the flu, Hanka Kupfernagel, three-time winner of the World Cup and world championships, defended her national title during Germany’s cyclo-cross championships on Saturday in Auerbach.

Birgit Hollmann and Susanne Juranek finished second and third, respectively.
