Sky signs Hayman, Portal
Published: Nov. 16, 2009
Team Sky signed up two new riders on Monday — Mathew Hayman, Australia's Commonwealth Games road race champion, and Frenchman Nicolas Portal.
Hayman, 31, leaves Dutch team Rabobank. Portal, 30, leaves Caisse d'Epargne.
Portal, who had raced for Caisse d’Epargne since 2006, has spent a large part of this season on the sidelines because of an irregular heartbeat.
He will be the second Frenchman on the British team, joining Sylvain Calzati, who is leaving Agritubel.
