American Chloe Dygert turned heads last week at the Richmond world championships, winning both the junior time trial and road race titles. The 18-year-old also impressed when her power data was analyzed by TrainingPeaks on Tuesday.
Her peak 20-minute power was set during the end of lap three, heading into lap four, where she averaged 279 watts and 22.9mph.
If Strava is more your speed, you might be impressed to know that Dygert turned in the second-fastest time on the 10.1-mile road race circuit segment (Richmond 2015 World Championship), second only to Elisa Long0 Borghini by merely one second. Longo Borghini raced the elite women’s event and won the Ronde van Vlaanderen as well as La Route de France earlier this season.
Dygert also posted her worlds time trial ride on Strava. In that race, she had a weighted average power of 296 watts for the 9.4-mile race, which she did in just over 20 minutes. Although a rainbow jersey is a far more important prize, she did scoop up a QOM on that day to boot.
