Richmond artist paints Major Taylor mural for worlds

James Thornhill, a Richmond, Virginia-based artist, is painting a massive mural to honor the life of Marshall “Major” Taylor, a pioneering African-American cyclist who won the one-mile world championship title in 1899.

The mural will be found along race course, at the corner of 1st and Marshall in Richmond.
