Actor was going against traffic in NYC — NBC New York
Actor Alec Baldwin was stopped by police and later put in handcuffs for riding his bike the wrong way on New York City’s Fifth Avenue, a one-way street, on Tuesday.
Police noticed Baldwin pedaling against traffic and stopped him. NBC reports that Baldwin became angry with the officers and was put in handcuffs.
Baldwin was not carrying identification, the story says, so he was taken to the police station — a customary practice in cases when someone does not have an ID — and cited for riding his bike the wrong way and disorderly conduct.
Baldwin later posted about the incident on his Twitter account, saying “New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign.”
