Coryn Rivera claims European stage win

The women’s USA Cycling National Development program showed a strong performance at Tour du Limousin in France this weekend.

Coryn Rivera (Peanut Butter & Co-Twenty12) started the race off with all four leader’s jersey after winning stage 1. This was Rivera’s first European win as a non-junior.

Rivera continued to place well throughout the stage race, finishing third in stage 3. She finished the race one point down from first place in the points competition and won the Young Rider Classification over Sanne Cant of Belgium.

Ashley James (Team Kenda p/b GearGrinder) also finished well, placing fifth in the Young Rider Classification with her top finish coming stage 2’s individual time trial.

Kaitlin Antonneau (Peanut Butter & CoTwenty12) and Kendall Ryan (Team TIBCO to the Top) also helped the U.S. National Team finish 7th in the Teams Classification.

The week before the Limousin, the squad’s Jacquelyn Crowell (Team Type 1 Development) finished fourth in the GC, one second off of the podium, at the Tour of Bretagne Feminin. James finished third in the Young Rider Classification at Bretagne, the best placed U.S. rider in the classification.
