Peter Sagan wins again in Sardinia

Peter Sagan knows no rival — at least at the ongoing Giro di Sardegna.

The 21-year-old Slovakian kicked to his third win in four days of racing during Friday’s 174.2km fourth stage at the five-day Sardinia tour.

Sagan made easy work of Manuel Belletti (Colnago-CSF Inox) and Roberto Ferrari (Androni), who crossed the line in his vapors.

With the win, Sagan claims three victories in just six days of racing so far in the 2011 season for the young Liquigas-Cannondale phenomenon.

Sagan also carries the leader’s jersey into Saturday’s fifth and final stage, nursing a 14-second lead to Damiano Cunego (Lampre), the only other rider to win a stage so far at Sardinia.

José Serpa Perez (Andoni) slots into third at 16 seconds back going into Saturday’s finale, a 174km hilly run that concludes atop the second-category hill town Gesturi.

Sagan should put up a good fight, but will have a hard time fending off the likes of Cunego, Serpa and Ben Hermans (RadioShack), fifth at 32 seconds back.
