Team Jamis Takes TransAndes Day 2

Jason Sager and Benjamín Sonntag have taken a commanding lead after winning the first two stages of the TransAndes Challenge.

On Tuesday the Team Jamis duo repeated their stage one victory by winning the steep climbs and technical downhill sections of 66km stage two with a time of 3 hours 43 minutes and 29 seconds. That puts them to 17 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of Team Trek-Zaboo-Damatta composed of Chilean Javier Püschel and the Swiss Simon Zahnd.

In the Open Mixed Category the winners were once again team Kenda-Seven husband-and-wife Mary McConneloug and Michael Broderick. The pair are in third place overall in the duo category.

Jamis’ Harlan Blake leads the Open Solo category while World Cup cross-country racers Eva Lechner and Nathalie Schneitter lead the Open Women category.

Wednesday’s stage three will take place within the Coñaripe Thermal Complex and Menetué Thermal Complex, with a distance of 80km through the transvolcanic pass of the Villarrica National Park.
