Garmin-Transition signs Fischer

Tyler Farrar will have even more support in 2010 as he goes head to head against the peloton’s best sprinters.

Garmin-Transitions has sealed a deal with Brazilian rider Murilo Fischer in a move aimed at giving Farrar a stronger lead-out train in the mass gallops to the line.

Fischer will join Julian Dean and newcomer Robbie Hunter as Garmin makes a move to strengthen its train for Farrar.

The Brazilian is a strong sprinter in his own right and will have chances to win races when Farrar’s not in the mix.

The 30-year-old turned pro in 2004 with Domina Vacanze and has enjoyed steady success on the European circuit. He won the Giro del Piemonte in 2005 and a stage in the Tour of Poland in 2007 and bolted to fifth in the 2005 world championships in Madrid.
